Set painting for the Dutch Opera & Ballet

Started my career as a set painter for the Dutch Opera & Ballet 21 years ago.
At the painting department of the workshop, I work with different painting technics such as the traditional way to paint sets.

The canvasses are usually huge so we put the canvas on the floor and paint with brushes on long sticks, using big trolleys with big buckets for the paint on it and mix the paint on big iron pallets to mix. We stand on top of our canvas.

Sounds great right. Besides painting the sets for The Netherlands, we made and still are making sets that go all across the world, Paris, Sidney, New York, Denmark, Barcelona, you name it I participated it!
